Today, April 28, 2024, marked the conclusion of the eagerly awaited "6 Tickets 2 Paris" zonal qualification tournament in Differdange, Luxembourg, where the final Olympic spots for the European zone were secured by male épée and female sabre fencers from across the continent.

In a display of unparalleled skill and determination, Tristan Tulen from the Netherlands emerged triumphant in the men's épée category. Among 31 fencers today, he proved to be the best, demonstrating an objective "flow" that propelled him to success. Notably, the men’s épée competition stood out as one of the most competitive in the world, with Tulen's performance setting a high standard for excellence.

Other notable performances include Miguel Frazao of Portugal claiming the second position, while Josef Mahringer of Austria and Yulen Pereira from Spain shared the third-place honors.

In the women's sabre event, Yoana Ilieva of Bulgaria delivered a masterclass performance, solidifying her place as the champion. Ilieva, who previously clinched a bronze medal at the World Championships in Milan, demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, leaving no doubt about her dominance on the fencing strip. Despite facing some resistance in the semifinals, Ilieva's determination and skill propelled her to victory. The competition saw a total of 13 participants.

Nisanur Erbil of Turkey secured the second position, while Larissa Eifler of Germany and Malgorzata Kozaczuk from Poland shared the third-place honors.
